Team-Based Learning (TBL)
A scientific education encompasses learning both factual information, and the complex, multi-dimensional environment in which that information is applied. Regis utilizes a TBL paradigm because it is proven to be superior in preparing students in both areas. Regis prepares future pharmacy practitioners who not only understand the facts, but also have excellent critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills. These skills allow our graduates to thrive in a complex environment that requires coordination and collaboration across the full healthcare delivery team.
Regis' School of Pharmacy is one of only two pharmacy schools in the country using TBL as the primary teaching method and the only pharmacy school combining TBL with an integrated curriculum approach.
Our curriculum integrates biological, pharmaceutical and clinical sciences so that basic biological and pharmaceutical concepts are discussed in the context of disease management. TBL breaks away from the traditional lecture format, instead focusing on teaching courses and concepts through experiential opportunities.
