Resources for Faculty, Staff, Family and Health Care Providers

Thank you for seeking out information on how to support your student(s)! While Counseling Services' staff cannot release any information regarding students or their involvement in our center (except under situations of imminent risk as outlined by the limits of confidentiality), our counselors are happy to provide consultation if you have concerns about a student. We can provide guidance on ways to reach out to, speak with, and support students who may be struggling. Please see below for resources for how you might support the student(s) you are concerned about.

Regis Faculty and Staff

We greatly appreciate the critical role you play in supporting the mental health of our students at Regis. Please see below for helpful information:

  • Students in Crisis: While faculty and staff can recommend or urge a student to seek counseling or crisis services through Counseling Services, you cannot make an appointment for them. Please encourage your students to call our main line at 303.458.3558, or stop by the office in order to set up an appointment with a counselor. You may call with them or walk over with them if that helps the student feel more comfortable. Please note that our main phone line is also answered 24/7/365 and is answered by mental health professionals when the office is closed.
  • Students of Concern: f you refer a student to Counseling Services or have a non-academic concern about a student, you are encouraged to submit a Student of Concern Report. These reports go to the Dean of Students Office in Student Affairs. The information is kept private and only shared with appropriate professionals at Regis (i.e. Associate Director at Counseling Services for a student with a mental health concern).
  • Title IX/Discrimination Concern: If the student you are concerned about has been the victim of interpersonal violence or discrimination contact the EO & Title IX Coordinator.
  • In addition, Regis’s Violence Prevention and Victim Advocacy office is a confidential resource for students who have experienced interpersonal violence.
  • Requesting a Mental Health Presentation/Program: Faculty and staff are welcome to request a program/presentation for their class on a relevant mental health topic. We also provide some training for Faculty/Staff on how to support students in distress.
  • Our outreach services can be requested by sending an email to hcc@regis.edu with your name, contact information, type of presentation or mental health concern you would like us to address, and dates and timelines. We ask that requests be made for groups of 10 or more and that they be placed at least two weeks in advance for consideration. We do our best to honor requests as often as time and resources allow.

Many of our students have providers prior to coming to Regis either locally in Denver or near home. If you are a provider who currently works with an incoming or current Regis student and would like more information about our services, please review our website. Did You Know?

The Regis Center for Counseling, Family and Play Therapy, located on our Thornton campus, provides low- to no-cost counseling services for our staff, faculty and their families. Master's level therapists-in-training will meet with you once per week for an average of 14 weeks per semester. You will have a consistent counselor over those 14 weeks, and your appointment will be at the same time each week.
