DeSmet Hall
Residents: First-Year Students
Desmet Hall is the home of the First Year Experience. DeSmet Hall was named for Father Pierre DeSmet, S.J., a Jesuit missionary known for developing strong ties with many Native American tribes in the mid-19th century. This four-story residence hall is close to the fitness center, Field House, Pomponio Family Science Center and the Dayton Memorial Library. DeSmet Hall is also home to two Living Learning Communities: Colorado Outdoor Recreation Experience (C.O.R.E) and En/Route.
DeSmet is arranged in corridor-style living, with each floor sharing a central lounge where students can watch movies, enjoy student-staff projects or study with friends from DeSmet or other halls. Additionally, this hall includes cost-free laundry. Rooms are double-occupancy and include extra-long twin beds, desks, dressers, closet space and internet access.
This building is substance-free and staffed throughout the day by front desk staff as well as Community Development Assistants (CDAs) and Peer Ministers.
