APhA Foundation Pharmacists Mutual Community Pharmacy Scholarship

$1,750

  • Complete at least one academic year in the professional sequence of courses.
  • Earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent grading system) in professional coursework during pharmacy school.
  • Be an active member in APhA-ASP for students located in the US and Puerto Rico. The applicant must show participation in his or her chapter's activities but is not required to hold a leadership position.
  • Previous APhA Foundation Student Scholarship recipients are not eligible; however, previous applicants that did not receive a scholarship are welcome to reapply.
The Pharmacist Mutual Community Pharmacy Scholarship is to be awarded to pharmacy students annually who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to advancing the future of community pharmacy in the United States. The scholarship will be based on evidence of a commitment to contributing to the advancement of community pharmacy with consideration of applicant’s academic achievement, outstanding student leadership, pharmacy association involvement and community service. All applicants will be required to submit an essay of up to 500 words describing how the applicant would help in the future to advance community pharmacy patient care. APhA Foundation Student Scholarship Program

$1,000-$1,500

  • Complete at least one academic year in the professional sequence of courses.

ASHP Student Leadership Award

$2,000

  • Applicants must be full-time pharmacy students enrolled in a professional Doctor of Pharmacy program at an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Applicants must be an ASHP member in good standing.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of a least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent grading system).
  • Applicants must have completed at least one academic year in their professional pharmacy program.
  • Students who have received an ASHP Student Leadership Award in the past or who are currently serving on an ASHP Council, the Commission on Affiliate Relations or the Pharmacy Student Forum Executive Committee are not eligible to apply.
To be considered for the SLA, you will be expected to submit the following:
  • A completed Professional Activities questionnaire.
  • An essay of no more than 750 words conveying your thoughts on how, as a student leader, you would increase awareness and understanding of the emerging roles, care delivery models, and practice settings for pharmacists in the year 2030 among student colleagues. This should include a discussion of why the Practice Advancement Initiative is important for students and specific types of activities or programs that you believe would be most effective.
  • Three letters of recommendations: one from a faculty member, one from a pharmacist practitioner, and one from a student peer.
  • Three corresponding Recommendation Forms signed by each recommender.
  • A resume or curriculum vitae.
  • A completed Certification and Acceptance signature page.

CVS Health Bilingual Scholarship

The CVS Annual Pharmacy Scholarship was established in December 2012 with an annual gift from CVS Caremark Charitable Trust. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide scholarships to pharmacy students.

CVS Health Foundation Spanish Pharmacy Student Scholarship

The CVS Spanish Pharmacy Student Annual Scholarship was established in December 2017 with a gift from CVS Health Foundation to support students fluent in Spanish to complete their pharmacy education.

  • Recipient shall be proficient in Spanish.
  • Recipient shall remain in good academic standing.
  • Recipient shall have an interest in a career in community pharmacy practice.

CVS Health Minority Scholarship for Pharmacy Students

$8,000

Qualified applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Student must be accepted into or currently enrolled as a first year PharmD student at an ACPE pre-candidate, candidate, or accredited AACP member institution.
  • Student must be an underrepresented minority (URM) student. AACP identifies URM individuals in pharmacy as black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian, Native Hawaiian, and/or Pacific Islander students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • Student must demonstrate leadership, academic success, and a commitment to advancing the pharmacy profession and patient care.
  • GPA for current degree program must be 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
  • Student must submit a completed application by the deadline.
  • If a scholarship is awarded to an accepted (not yet enrolled) pharmacy student, the award will be granted to the institution after the individual has started classes in the PharmD program. These students will be ineligible to apply for this scholarship again in the future.
Each recipient will receive a single scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to reduce the financial barriers and challenges for underrepresented minority (URM) students who are pursuing a PharmD degree. Dennis Mantas Memorial Scholarship

Gateway to Research Awards

For Pharm.D. and undergraduate students

Each application must include:

  • online application completed through Formsite completed jointly by the student and mentor
  • two recommendations, completed on Formsite by mentor and an additional faculty member
  • official current transcript sent by the registrar to AFPE, either electronically or by mail. 

The awards are given to individuals who, in the judgment of the scientific review panel, have met the following criteria:

  • recommended by a faculty member
  • demonstrated superior academic performance
  • submitted a proposed research topic that is relevant
  • provided a comprehensive mentorig plan -submitted lettersof recommendation

Safeway seeks to stimulate the diversity of health care professions by providing financial assistance to a student who is underrepresented in the field of pharmacy.

  • be a P2-P4 student

TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Be a resident of the 50 United States, Puerto Rico or the District of Columbia
  • If the applicant is an undergraduate student: must have completed at least one year of undergraduate course study by the Spring of previous year at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. You must provide proof of enrollment to a health education, medical school, public health, nursing, and/or pharmacy degree program.
  • If the applicant is a graduate student: must provide proof of enrollment to a graduate program in health education, medical school, public health, nursing, and/or pharmacy degree program. Must have one or more years of school remaining
  • Scholarships will be awarded to students and practitioners who are seeking a degree to actively treat patients.

Walgreens Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship

The Walgreens Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship was established with a diversity donation from Walgreens awarded to a single student who embraces diversity and promotes diversity and inclusion initiatives on campus.

  • Student must embrace diversity and promote diversity and inclusion awareness initiatives on campus.
  • Student must submit an essay to the scholarship committee explaining how he/she has made significant efforts toward raising awareness or playing an active role in educating others about diversity and inclusion related matters impacting the pharmacy profession.
  • Student must have a minimum overall 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Student must not be a previous recipient of the Walgreen's Diversity Scholarship.
