Below, we’d like to highlight some of our extraordinary endowed scholarship opportunities available to incoming traditional students at Regis University for Fall 2025. If other endowed scholarship opportunities become available, your cover letter and/or essay may be reviewed. The Application deadline is March 17, 2025.

A cover letter is required for all scholarship application submissions. In your cover letter, please share your personal story and demonstrate why you are a strong candidate by addressing the following areas:

  1. Community Involvement: Describe your contributions to your community, whether through volunteer work, leadership roles, or other forms of service. How have these experiences shaped you as an individual and influenced your goals?
  2. Academic Interests: Discuss your academic passions, your goals for further education, and how they align with your career aspirations. How do you plan to utilize your education to contribute to society?
  3. Scholarship Worthiness: Explain what makes you a deserving candidate for this scholarship. What unique qualities, experiences, or challenges do you bring that demonstrate your commitment, resilience, and potential to succeed?

This is an opportunity to convey not only your academic achievements but also the values, experiences, and aspirations that make you a deserving candidate for a scholarship. Please refer to the scholarship criteria below for more information on what to include in your cover letter.

You MUST title your cover letter and essay, if required, with your full name and Regis ID (if known), indicate which scholarship you are applying for, and upload your items in Word (.doc, .docx) or PDF format.

The McCormick Endowed Scholarship provides full-tuition merit scholarships for high-performing undergraduate students at Regis University who would benefit from the Jesuit Experience.

In your cover letter, please address your demonstrated exceptional character, highlight your academic awards or honors from your high school or community, note your extra-curricular activities and leadership positions related to academics, and explain why you feel you would benefit from the Jesuit Experience at Regis University.

The Irish Community Scholarship was established to celebrate Irish and Irish American heritage and the impact of the Irish on the United States. Annual scholarships of up to $5,000 are awarded and renewable for a total of four years. You do not need to be of Irish descent to apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Requirements

  • Be an admitted, full-time undergraduate student working on your first bachelor's degree
  • High school GPA must be 3.0 or above
  • Submit the application on this page, including essay (1,000-1,500 words)

Essay Prompt

Submit an essay of 1,000-1,500 words about the impact of an Irish or Irish American individual on an American community. The essay can be about a current or historical subject and is meant to give you the opportunity to showcase your writing skills, originality and unique point of view. Please include word count and any relevant citations in your essay submission.

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to recipients that demonstrate their ability, achievement, character and potential to use their education for the service of others. Recipient must be from rural Colorado, preferably Cheyenne county. The Scholarship may cover the cost of tuition, housing, food and books dependent on award amount available.

In your cover letter, please include how you feel you would use your education at Regis University to serve others. Make sure you highlight your abilities and examples of your strong character, and note achievements you’ve received.

Here, your spiritual journey matters. That is why we offer the Ignatian Scholarship for Contemplation in Action for incoming Religious Studies majors who seek to be involved in religious, spiritual, and/or interfaith leadership. Scholarship Requirements

  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • High school GPA must be 3.0 or above
  • Must show potential religious leadership abilities and interests through an essay and letters of recommendation

Essay Prompt

Submit an essay limited to 500-750 words, answering the following prompt: What does religious leadership mean to you, and how would a Regis education in Religious Studies help you grow as a religious leader? In your essay, please reflect on your past and present experiences with religious leadership, as well as your goals and aspirations for your college experience and beyond.

The RJ Friend Scholarship was established to assist students in receiving a Jesuit liberal arts education with the aim of developing the whole person. Eligible students must be incoming students to the traditional program, plan to major in business, must exhibit strong merit, and must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.

In your cover letter, please include how you feel you would benefit from receiving your business degree from Regis University. Make sure you highlight your abilities and examples of your academic merit.


In addition to the scholarships listed above, by submitting your cover letter and addressing any of the additional criteria listed below, we may be able to consider you for other endowment scholarship opportunities available for our full-time traditional undergraduate students, including but not limited to:

The purpose of the Regis University Presidential Merit Scholarship Endowment is to provide funding to high-performing traditional undergraduate students who would benefit from the Jesuit academic experience at Regis University.

This is a need-based award based on a student's FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), and preference will be given to students who have demonstrated resilience in overcoming significant life challenges and who are committed to making meaningful contributions to U.S. society, culture, or their academic field.

The Thomas J. Steele, S.J. Endowed Scholarship provides scholarships for traditional undergraduate students studying liberal arts in Regis College of Regis University declaring majors including: English Literature, Religious Studies, Peace and Justice, History, or Art Education. Preference will be granted to students with financial need based on their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance for incoming, first-year, lower socioeconomic student(s) (based on the FAFSA – Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with a preference for students who major in majors such as Communication, English, Creative Writing, Political Science, and Sociology). Additional preference will also be given to students who demonstrate an interest in Irish or other cultural traditions through any form of cultural engagement, such as participation in related community events, clubs, or coursework.

To provide financial support to undergraduate students seeking a Jesuit education at Regis University.

The Mattie D. Brown Scholarship provides tuition support for highly academically qualified students from limited-income backgrounds and/or students who are the first in their families to pursue a bachelor's degree in Regis College or the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated a commitment to serving underrepresented communities through volunteer work, community engagement, or career aspirations in health and social services.

The Native American scholarship is intended to help students with demonstrated financial need (based on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and who can show evidence of consistently high or significantly improved academic achievement. Eligible candidates must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Preference may be granted to students of full Native American descent. Eligible candidates may be asked to provide tribal documentation.

The Lynch Family scholarship is for undergraduate students enrolled in the Anderson College of Business at Regis University who have demonstrated financial need based on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Preference will be granted to Jesuit Catholic High School graduates whose parents or guardians have not earned a bachelor’s degree.

The Janice Dunbar scholarship is intended for students enrolled in the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions or the Loretto Heights School of Nursing (LHSON). Eligible students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Preference may be granted to students whose parents or guardians have not earned a bachelor’s degree and/or students from Wyoming.
