Next Steps for Bachelor of Science in Nursing Students
Congratulations! Now that you have been accepted to the Accelerated BSN, CHOICE BSN or Nursing: BSN program, it is time to take care of a few details. Below are the next steps you'll need to take in order to get enrolled and start on your way towards becoming a Regis Nurse.
Your Admissions Counselor is here to guide you through the initial steps to get started, registered for your first classes and make sure you're set up for success. Your student success team is highly trained in all things Regis, so don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have!
1: Submit Your Deposit
To secure your spot on our class roster, a non-refundable deposit is required by the date noted on your acceptance communication. The deposit is applied directly towards your tuition and can be submitted by electronic transfer or check.
2: Activate RegisNet
Once we receive your deposit, look out for an email with your RegisNet username. Once you have your username, you'll be able to set up and activate your account. Please add @regis.edu domain to your safe-senders list to make sure you continue to receive updates.
3: Prerequisites
All prerequisites must be completed before your program starts. This is an important one – starting classes at Regis is conditional on ensuring we have your final transcripts with prerequisites completed. Detailed prerequisite information for your program is below.
4: Plan Your Payments
Going to school is a big investment. Don’t let money get the best of you, or stand in the way of your education. Complete your online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to see what you might qualify for in terms of loans. Regis University's school code is 001363.
5: Student Success Webinar
We want to make sure all of your prerequisites are in order and you are prepared to make the most of your nursing education. Our Student Success virtual webinar covers all those bases. Attendance is mandatory for all incoming students, so be sure to register as soon as you receive an email with your sign-up options.

Get Ready for Classes
Once all your documentation is submitted, there are just a few more things you'll need to do before your first day of classes.
Be sure to join your cohort's Facebook group - a private Facebook group where you can get to know future classmates or potential roommates long before classes start. Your admissions counselor will provide your invitation to join the group.
Purchase or Waive Insurance
All students who already have their own health insurance must waive the Regis student health insurance option. Students who do not waive or purchase insurance will be automatically enrolled prior to the start of classes.
Review Your Student Handbook
Start off on the right foot by reviewing your Student Handbook. Learn more about academic policies, standards of conduct, educational outcomes, course descriptions, graduation and more.
Buy Your Textbooks
Textbooks are available one month before class begins. You can purchase or rent paperback and digital texts through the Regis Bookstore.
Prerequisite Requirements
Your decision letter contains an unofficial transcript evaluation which indicates the courses you have left to complete. For a full list of prerequisite requirements, click the link that corresponds to your program.
All prerequisites must be completed before your program starts. Once your prerequisites have been satisfied, be sure to submit your final, official transcripts to Regis University to verify completion. You must submit transcripts from all post-secondary institutions before your program begins.
Options for Completing Your Nursing Prerequisites
Health Care Ethics
All pre-licensure nursing students, regardless of program, are required to take a course in Health Care Ethics prior to starting at Regis. If taken at Regis, this class is called HCE 430 and is taught online in an 8-week format. We also accept transfer credit from other schools to satisfy this requirement. The following courses are accepted from common transfer institutions:
Metropolitan State University of Denver: ITP 3200
University of Colorado: PHIL 3160, HUMN 5242, PHIL 4242 or PHIL 5242
University of Phoenix: HCS 335, 8 weeks, online
If your Health Care Ethics prerequisite is completed at an outside institution, you will be also required to successfully complete an online module that provides a Jesuit component to the curriculum that is not included in courses taken outside of Regis. The module is free and takes about 4 hours to complete.
