Program Outcomes
The Team-Based and Experiential Learning approaches employed by Regis are very effective in preparing students for their careers. Regis students enjoy NAPLEX Pass Rates above the national average and post-graduate residency match rates well above the national average.
Post-Graduate Residency Training
A pharmacy residency is a post-Pharm.D. training program that allows a resident to receive additional training in providing pharmaceutical care and accelerate career growth. Residency training can provide a competitive advantage in the job market, particularly when applying for specialized clinical positions in areas such as cardiology, oncology and more. The School of Pharmacy (SOP) has collaborated with several health care organizations in the Denver area to develop a number of post-graduate residency training programs. Some of our residency partners include Penrose St. Francis, St Anthony Hospital, Safeway and Swedish Medical Center. In addition, Regis Pharm.D. graduates have a strong track record of applying and matching into some of the most competitive residency programs nationally and regionally. Class of 2023 graduates had an 88% residency match rate (compared to a national average of 82%) and class of 2024 graduates had an 89% residency match rate (compared to a national average of 81%). Programs that our graduates have matched into include Stanford Health Care, Mayo Clinic, Rush University Medical Center, Dartmouth, SUNY Health Science Center, Tucson Medical Center, Lutheran Medical Center, Medical Center of Aurora, Denver Health, the VA, Intermountain Health and Stormont – Vail Health.
Experiential Rotations
Students’ experiential rotations are imbedded throughout the curriculum at a variety of individualized, unique rotational sites. Students get to pick their rotations via personalized rankings – not just assigned proactively to students without input – and the experiential experiences are flexible to that of the students’ future career choices. In addition to ranking the local, affiliated sites, students are encouraged and can create their own rotations out of state, across the nation. With established affiliations across the nation AND internationally – students receive tailored learning experiences to that of their future. The clinical, specialty rotations at transplant, pediatric, oncology, acute care, and more opportunities are coordinated through hospitals and health systems. The dual-degree programs and certificates (health administration, informatics, and fellowship/industry certificate) offered in the curriculum have matched rotational opportunities through our corporate rotations and that of major pharmaceutical industry partners – with opportunities exclusively only available to Regis students. In accordance with accreditation standards, the individualized rotations foster student learning to be prepared for any Pharm.D. pathway after Regis. Examples below:
