The Department of Fine & Performing Arts Music Programs is pleased to present this Faculty Recital as part of its Spring 2024 Concert & Event Series. The program is titled Song and Steps: Folk Traditions Transformed for Piano Trio. The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Claver Recital Hall and is FREE and open to the public.
Featuring the talents of faculty violinist Robyn Julyan and guests.
Robyn Julyan teaches violin at Regis University and is the Chamber Area Coordinator. Robyn has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist in festivals and concert series around the country, including the Albuquerque Chamber Soloists, Loon Lake Live Festival, Piccolo Spoleto’s Spotlight Series, Friends of Chamber Music Denver, and the Breckenridge Music Festival. Ms. Julyan has held positions with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Charleston Symphony, the Sarasota Opera, and the Opera Colorado Orchestra. Other recent engagements include the Atlanta Symphony and the Colorado Music Festival.
Passionate about performing the works of living composers, Ms. Julyan is a member of the Playground Ensemble, the Front Range’s premier new music ensemble, and performs each August as a member of the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music in Santa Cruz, California. In 2016, Ms. Julyan joined the faculty of Orvieto Musica in Orvieto, Italy, a rigorous chamber music festival for college and young professional musicians, as director of the Intensive Strings program. She holds an MM in Violin Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a BM in Violin Performance from the Peabody Conservatory. Major teachers and include David Updegraff, Martin Beaver, Herbert Greenberg, Claude Richard, and Lenny Felberg.
