AT REGIS UNIVERSITY TRAILBLAZING CONVERSATIONS DR: ANTONIA NOVELLO WITH NITA GONZALES "DUTY CALLS" 5 MARCH

Trailblazing Conversations: Duty Calls Book Launch

Regis University (Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions and The Office of Diversity and Inclusion) invites you to an evening of dialogue with Dr. Antonia Novello and Jill Tietjen in celebration of Women’s History Month and the launch of Duty Calls: Lessons Learned from an Unexpected Life of Service.

Dr. Antonia Novello is a pioneer who shattered glass ceilings as the first woman, and first Hispanic Surgeon General of the United States. In addition to her work in the Federal Government, she was New York State Health Commissioner during 9/11 and has worked tirelessly in her home of Puerto Rico to provide quality access to medical care, particularly COVID-19 vaccinations. Joining her is co-author Jill Tietjen, an accomplished electrical engineer, prolific author of 14 books, and an inductee into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame.

Together with Nita Gonzales, Principal of Nuevo Amanecer, our guests will have a conversation delving into critical aspects of public health, health equity for women and minorities, leadership, writing and the profound impact of leading a life devoted to service.

The event will take place at the St. John Francis Regis Chapel and begins at 5:30. Books will be available for signing and purchase after the event.
