MAE 665E: Teaching Strategies for Linguistically Diverse Educators
Explore research-based methods and examine effective content-based instructional strategies for teaching English to CLD learners.
Research has shown that students who speak a first language at home are more successful in acquiring a second language in school. As a bilingual educator, you can help students use their entire linguistic repertoires to excel in the classroom and beyond. You will also become an advocate for multilingual learners (MLLs) in your school district while engaging with your students’ families and communities.
Designed for licensed educators, the final course of our Bilingual Education Specialist Certificate equips you with researched-based methods for teaching students in dual-language schools and supporting their growth as MLLs. Our course work is aligned with the Colorado Department of Education’s CLDE Endorsement standards and allows students to automatically apply for the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLD) added endorsement and the CLD Bilingual Education Specialist added endorsement.
Please note that Spanish language proficiency is required for this certificate.
