Ranking
Admission to Regis University’s Residency in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy program is granted on a competitive basis.
Desire to learn is a priority, a keen interest in orthopaedic physical therapy, conference activity especially APTA CSM or Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Annual Conference, orthopaedic CEU's taken, expressed interests and location of potential mentors. PTs all have different educational backgrounds with DPT, BSPT, MSPT, and the length of your career and demonstration for further continuing education is also a consideration if a DPT has not been earned. At a minimum, orthopaedic residents need to commit to a year of full-time clinical experience in the area of orthopaedic physical therapy. Residents are expected to sit for the OCS exam upon completion of the Regis University Residency in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.
Regis University's Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (RUROPT) program has achieved candidacy status approval under the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) as of September 30th, 2019.
Candidacy status signifies satisfactory progress toward accreditation. Achieving candidacy status is not an indication that ABPTRFE will grant initial accreditation. Participants who graduate from a program in candidacy status are not deemed to have completed an accredited program.
The RUROPT program will continue with all required accreditation procedures, including a site visit in the second half of 2020 to achieve full accreditation.
