Abigail Wegert

Abbie Wegert is an assistant professor of nursing at Regis University. She is passionate about empowering students to become the best versions of themselves. She strives to inspire future nurses to become lifelong learners, pursue excellence, and provide compassionate, competent nursing care to the people they serve. She works to ignite an excitement for learning in the souls of her students, and continues to kindle that fire throughout their nursing education. She is student-centered and walks alongside her students; building their confidence, while holding them to a standard of excellence. She believes in the importance of cultivating an engaging, mutually respectful, and caring environment in the classroom. She is confident that students learn best when they are supported and cared for – as human beings and as students. Her passion has led her to pursue her PhD in Nursing Education and her research interests include nursing student motivation and empowerment, and faculty caring and immediacy. In her free time, she enjoys playing in the mountains with her husband and two kids.
