Vahram Ghushchyan

Dr. Ghushchyan earned his MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder. Prior to joining Regis University, he worked at the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy and the American University of Armenia. Dr. Ghushchyan has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and numerous conference abstracts since 2005. His research interest is in evidence-based and data-driven analysis of health-related outcomes using statistical and data science methods. 

In his teaching, Dr. Ghushchyan emphasizes the real-life application of research, the importance of intuition in crafting complicated methods, and the development of students’ verbal communication and writing skills. His teaching process is very dynamic, aiming to reduce students’ math and science anxieties, rendering them as expert problem solvers able to work collaboratively in a team. Dr. Ghushchyan extensively uses real-life applications of economic and statistical methods, involving students in hands-on data analyses.

Learning and teaching are essential aspects of Dr. Ghushchyan’s intellectual life. The academic atmosphere allows him to grow personally and professionally as he is constantly being challenged by colleagues, students, and other members of the academic community. Dr. Ghushchyan is a firm believer in transformative education, evidence-based research, and the importance of diversity, traditions and culture in higher education.
