Michele Claiborne

Dr. Michele Claiborne is a Professor of Acute Care Internal Medicine and the Vice Chair in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Regis University School of Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and completed residency training in Family Medicine/Ambulatory Care with an emphasis in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado Hospital. Dr. Claiborne is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and practices as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Acute Care Internal Medicine at the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System. Her practice interests include hepatology, cardiology, nephrology and Infectious Diseases.

Additionally, Dr. Claiborne teaches in the pharmacotherapy, laboratory and simulation courses at Regis University School of Pharmacy, and she has precepted over eighty fourth-year pharmacy students on clinical rotation. Dr. Claiborne serves as the course director and an instructor in the pharmacy Capstone course. She is a three-time recipient of the Regis University School of Pharmacy Award for Teaching Excellence and received the Faculty Preceptor of the Year Award in 2013. Dr. Claiborne's research interests include religious sensitivity in health care, and scholarship of teaching and learning including inter-professional education, clinical rotation assessment, capstone formation and residency training.
