Meaghan Shaughnessy

Meaghan Shaughnessy serves as the director of the Pre-Law program and an assistant professor, teaching a variety of law and politics courses, including Constitutional Law, United States Public Policy, International Law and Human Rights, and others. She has a particular interest in supporting students with their personal vocational discernment process and teaches a unique course, Vocation of Law, which helps students assess their personal values and consider how to develop their unique interests and talents to serve others. She finds it meaningful and rewarding to implement creative and active teaching practices and her scholarly work is focused on vocation and pedagogy. Prior to Regis, she practiced law at Arnold & Porter, LLP, served as a law clerk for the Colorado Supreme Court, and wrote a (still-to-be-revised) novel for middle grade readers. She graduated summa cum laude from Creighton University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree (journalism and philosophy) and is a member of the Order of the Coif, graduating from the University of Colorado Law School. She is a member of the Colorado bar (inactive).
