Dr. Basham is a behavioral neuroscientist. He regularly teaches courses in neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, neuropharmacology, and learning and memory, in addition to introductory level courses in psychology and neuroscience. His research interests include a) the role of tPA and the LRP receptor in rodent motor learning, and b) the efficacy of late-in-life cognitive challenges in reducing normal age-related cognitive declines in rats. He is also very interested in the neuroscience and philosophy of consciousness and questions about free will.
