Dr. Eakes is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner currently serving Denver, Colorado's homeless population through her work at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. Strongly committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care, she focuses on empowering individuals to improve their mental health helping them to achieve more enriching lives. In her capacity as Clinical Coordinator for the PMHNP program at Regis University, Dr. Eakes plays a role in mentoring, guiding, and educating the next generation of psychiatric nurse practitioners. Her hope is to instill in them a commitment to clinical excellence.
Beyond her psychiatric specialization, Dr. Eakes has a background in cardiology, where she spearheaded a heart failure inpatient and outpatient program in Dallas that effectively reduced patient readmission rates.
