After obtaining his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the University of Texas at Austin, he spent three years as a postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry and The James Franck Institute at the University of Chicago. He joined the Regis College faculty in 2006, where he teaches courses in chemistry and the philosophy of science. In 2013 he was a Fulbright Scholar in the School of Humanities at the University of Lisbon and in 2016 was named Faculty Lecturer of the Year in Regis College. His research interests are in the areas of quantum statistical mechanics, phase-coherence effects in ultrafast energy- and charge-transfer process, and the philosophical development of quantum theory and quantum electrodynamics.
