Dr. Jenna C. Martin is the Program Director for the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education, Graduate Program for Practicing Teachers, here at Regis University. She received her Educational Doctorate from the University of Colorado Denver in Leadership for Educational Equity: Urban and Diverse Communities and her master's degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Martin’s research interests include recruitment and retention of teachers of Color and culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogies.
She is involved in local professional organizations such as: the Colorado chapter for the National Association of Multicultural Education, the Colorado chapter of the California Association for Bilingual Education, the annual Teacher of Color and Allies Summit at the University of Colorado Boulder, and the Higher Education Linguistically Diverse Education.
Most recently, she was an Assistant Principal at the Denver Center for International Studies (DCIS) in the Denver Public School (DPS) district. In DPS, she has been a Dean of Instruction at DCIS and Henry Middle School, and an English Language Development (ELD) instructional coach at Abraham Lincoln High School. She has also been an ELD, social studies, and English language arts teacher in middle schools in Reno, NV and Longmont, CO.
