Catherine Witt

Catherine Witt has been a nurse and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for over 30 years. She believes that nursing is a calling, and that it is an honor to be with patients throughout lives, including at the beginning of life and at the end. Teaching students to care for others at these times is the most important job we do. There is a discernible difference in the Regis nurse. A sense of empathy, combined with curiosity, intellectual rigor, and value for human life creates leaders who are able to serve their patients, co-workers, and others with grace. As educators Witt believes our job is to help students learn to be critical thinkers, to be constantly learning, and to be able to see another's point of view. Helping students learn how to ask questions, how to search for the answers to problems, how to communicate effectively, and how to be of service to others will prepare them for a lifetime of satisfying work. Regis students will work in a world where they will constantly be faced with how they treat the least among us. She believes that how they care for others us is one of the distinguishing qualities in a Regis educated nurse.
