Dr. Amanda Gibson is a neuroscientist who earned her PhD at the University of Michigan studying how early-life and adult stress interact and affect the reproductive system in mice. She is interested in how perinatal experiences, those that happen shortly before or after birth, affect material behavior and the physiological development of offspring. At Regis University, Dr. Gibson will be teaching neuroscience courses including Introduction to Brain and Behavior. In the classroom, Dr. Gibson strives to create spaces where all students feel like valued members of a scientific community and are active partners in creating the learning environment. Dr. Gibson studied Spanish as an undergraduate, and she believes deeply in the value of language learning and study abroad opportunities. She is excited to take advantage of all that Colorado has to offer, including spending time skiing and hiking in the mountains.
