Ali Gordon

Ali Gordon follows a student-centered teaching philosophy. She strives to create a learning space where each student feels safe, supported, and respected so that they can focus on learning. Her goal is to prepare nurses who provide excellent patient care while also caring for themselves and their colleagues to help avoid burnout. Students are the future, and by implementing self and community care practices now, we can begin to change health care for the better.

To accomplish this, she incorporates many of the Jesuit values in the classroom and in her one-on-one student interactions. She encourages contemplatives in action through reflecting on what we have learned and how it can inform our future practice. She incorporates Cura Personalis in her one-on-one student interactions as well as in the classroom. She also utilizes Magis in her service to the nursing profession and the community as well as encouraging this in students through her work as faculty advisor to the Student Nurses Association.
