Christy Stewart

Originally from Sacramento, California, Christy Stewart joined the Regis community as the Assistant Director of Victim Advocacy and Violence Prevention (VAVP) in September of 2024. Over the past several years, Christy has worked as a legal services advocate at Safe Shelter of St Vrain Valley in Longmont, where she provided support to individuals affected by intimate partner violence who were also involved in the legal system. Her role included crisis intervention, safety planning, court accompaniment, and connecting clients with legal assistance. This hands-on experience has honed her ability to navigate complex emotional and practical challenges while maintaining a compassionate and empowering approach.

Christy’s work towards her master’s degree in social work has further deepened her understanding of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices, equipping her with advanced skills and knowledge to better serve and advocate for victims in diverse settings.

Her skills in empathetic communication, resource coordination, crisis management, and cultural competence make Christy an ideal confidential victim advocate. She is dedicated to building a diverse team of student Violence Prevention Educators (VPEs) who provide prevention education, awareness and training regarding violence prevention to the Regis community.
