Joshua N. Knight, P.E., Ph.D., C.W.P., graduated from the University of Colorado with a BS in Chemical Engineering, from the University of South Carolina with a ME in Chemical Engineering, and from the University of Colorado at Denver with a PhD in Civil Engineering (Sustainable Urban Infrastructure). Joshua has over twenty years of experience in the water and wastewater, environmental and sustainability engineering fields. Previous employers include the City of Boulder’s water treatment plant, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, United Stated Air Force, Environmental Protection Agency, Lay Mission Helpers in Cameroon, Africa, Metro Wastewater Reclamation District and the Engineers Without Borders. Joshua is currently the Program Engineer at Global Hope Network International (ghni.org) in Denver, Colorado, overseeing water, wastewater, energy and agricultural projects in developing countries. GHNI walks alongside communities to empower villagers to lift themselves out of poverty using local staff to provide knowledge-sharing in the areas of water, food, health, education and income generation. Joshua also lectures at the Regis University on Environmental Engineering in International Development, and has co-taught Climate, Energy and Ecology and Food, Water, Energy Nexus. He received his professional engineering license in Environmental Engineering from the State of Colorado in 2001.
