Daniela Guzmán-Égüez teaches Applied Voice at Regis University.
Daniela is a soprano from Quito, Ecuador and has been described as a “bright and attractive performer with an expressive clean sound” Daniela performs regularly with local opera companies as well as companies in her home country. She feels at home on the stage in both opera and concert repertoire. She loves to perform music in Spanish, especially zarzuela and Latin American art song. Most recent operatic roles include the title role of Cinderella by Pauline Viardot, Celfa in "La púrpura de la rosa." Previous roles include the title role of Suor Angelica and Countess in “The Marriage of Figaro; Fiordiligi in “Cosi fan tutte,” Donna Elvira in “Don Giovanni.” Daniela is a Touring Artist for Central City Opera with whom she performs all year long in the Opera “Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World” as Rosita as well as other concert programs. Daniela is the Founder and Artistic Director of Quito’s Opera Express, a space for young singers to showcase their talent in shortened versions of great operas. Daniela combines her love for performance with teaching at Regis University and serves as Associate Director of Education at Central City Opera bringing opera to the community in the state of Colorado. She is an alumna from Ecuador's leading theater Teatro Nacional Sucre ́s Young Artist Program. Daniela holds a Master of Music from Texas Christian University and a Bachelor of Music, and Artist Diploma from the University of Denver.
