Life comes at you fast. There are countless reasons you may have started your bachelor’s degree years ago but never finished. The point is, we get it. And if you do decide to dust off your old notebooks and finish your degree, we think the B.A. in Liberal Arts at Regis University might just be perfect for you.
The B.A. in Liberal Arts is designed for curious learners who want to discover how ideas shape the world. We encourage you to challenge the status quo as you explore communication, culture, human behavior, psychology, philosophy, ethics, logic and more.
We chatted with Erica Ferg, Assistant Professor at Regis, to learn more about the B.A. in Liberal Arts program:
In your opinion, what are the greatest strengths of the liberal arts program at Regis?
Ferg: Recent studies of employers across various sectors tell us that employers want graduates who have liberal arts skills. These kinds of liberal arts skills include problem solving, emotional intelligence and effective teamwork, communication skills and ethical values. At Regis, we offer classes that intentionally and effectively build exactly these skills.
What differentiates the Regis B.A. in Liberal Arts from similar programs at other universities?
Ferg: We are a dedicated degree-completion program. We accept up to 90 transfer credits, so that you can put your past experience to immediate use and earn your degree sooner. Regis is also a Jesuit educational institution, embodying the best of the Jesuit intellectual tradition. We have faculty who care about you and who want to help you become the best possible version of yourself.
What type of student thrives in the B.A. in Liberal Arts program at Regis? What sort of talents and abilities are useful in the program?
Ferg: Hardworking students who are busy professionals and caregivers but serious about earning their degrees are the kinds of students who thrive in our program. We offer flexible online classes — taught by talented and caring faculty — that will allow you to complete your liberal arts degree more efficiently and yet still at your own best pace.
What advice would you give to someone who’s considering finishing their degree, continuing their education, or pursuing a degree for the first time as an adult?
Ferg: You are closer than you think to a Regis education! You also have knowledge, abilities, experiences and life skills on which you can draw to help you succeed. We have thousands of graduates who are out in the world pursuing their professional goals and dreams as a result of earning their degrees with us, and you can do it too.
Courses are held in flexible 5- and 8-week formats, with classes offered both online and on campus —perfect for busy adult learners who have other life obligations. And with our generous transfer policies (up to 90 credits), you might be only one or two years away from graduation!
