Regis University to host Denver Mayoral debate
The University will welcome Kelly Brough and Mike Johnston on May 11
Regis University will host the Denver Mayoral debate between Kelly Brough and Mike Johnston at its Northwest Denver Campus, 50th Ave./Regis Blvd. and Lowell Blvd.
The mayoral debate will be at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 11. The one-hour event will be in the Mountain View Room at St. Peter Claver, S.J. Hall, located at 52nd and Lowell Blvd. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Dominic Dezzutti, longtime host of PBS12’s Colorado Inside Out show, Shaun Boyd, political reporter for CBS Colorado and David Sabados, publisher of the Denver North Star will moderate the debate. The event is free and open to the public. Parking in Regis’ Lot 4 outside Claver Hall will be free.
“Regis University is thrilled to host the debates on campus again and we look forward to a productive conversation between both candidates,” said Jenna Farley, director of community relations at Regis. “We hope this debate will help better inform the Denver voters and what they need to consider when they cast their ballots in June.”
The Denver Office of the Clerk and Recorder manages the Fair Elections Fund (FEF), which voters created in 2018 and provides public matching funds to qualifying candidates for municipal offices. The last day to vote will be on June 6, 2023. Ballots will begin mailing on May 15.
Regis is working with nine community partners to sponsor these debates: Berkeley Regis United Neighbors (BRUN) RNO, Chaffee Park RNO, Denver North Star newspaper, Harkness Heights Neighborhood Association RNO, Highlands United Neighbors, Inc. (HUNI) RNO, Jefferson Park RNO, Sunnyside Neighbors, Inc. (SUNI) RNO, West Colfax Association of Neighbors (WeCAN) RNO, and West Highland Neighborhood Association.

This event will be held in the Mountain View Center at Claver Hall on Regis’ Northwest Denver Campus, 3333 Regis Blvd.Free parking will be available in lower Lot 4, accessible from Lowell Boulevard near W. 52nd Ave.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. No candidate signs are permitted on university property.
