Applicants to the entry-level DPT must have a previous baccalaureate degree in any field of study, as well as specific prerequisite courses. Prospective students are eligible to apply prior to completion of degree and prerequisite course work as long as the requirements will be met by the start of the program. A new class of approximately 64 students starts each Fall semester.
All applicants applying for admission to the Doctor of Physical Therapy professional entry program must apply via the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service PTCAS) as well as Regis University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Supplemental Application. Applications for Regis University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program starting in Fall 2010 will be available between July 15, 2009 - November 2, 2009.
The deadline for submitting the application and all supporting documents for the 2010 academic year is November 2, 2009.
The DPT program is 110 semester hours of full-time study, offered in eight semesters over three calendar years. A total of 38 weeks of clinical experience is integrated throughout the curriculum. The Department of Physical Therapy is affiliated with clinical facilities located through the U.S. and some abroad. New clinical sites are continually being added for new and varied experiences.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded a Doctor of Physical Therapy and are eligible to take the physical therapy licensure exam. This degree prepares students to be autonomous general practitioners equipped with the necessary tools to practice physical therapy in the 21st century.
