School of Physical Therapy

Welcome to the School of Physical Therapy and thank you for choosing Regis University. As a Jesuit University whose mission is to “develop learners as leaders,” we look forward to have you join us in our collaborative and supportive learning environment that is aimed to help each of you achieve success in your professional goals.

At Regis, physical therapy faculty and students are committed to study the science of movement and how this movement promotes the overall health and wellness of those that we serve. We integrate the latest evidence into our teaching, clinical practice and research efforts and are proud to lead the movement of evidence based practice in physical therapy. As the evidence of physical therapist practice continues to grow across all our clinical specialties and this evidence is translated into clinical practice, our patients ultimately benefit. This is truly an exciting time in PT and professional opportunities are endless. Our multiple programs within the School are intended to match where you might be in your career path and each is recognized for their unique style of excellence.

Since our inception in 1994, we have been known as visionaries whose goal is to move the profession of physical therapy forward. We were one of the first 25 schools to move to the DPT in 2001, with the transition DPT program t following in 2002. To support undergraduate students in Regis College, our minor in Exercise Science helps you to prepare for graduate education in PT and other related fields.

Our faculty are the best in the nation, spirited by their personal commitment to teaching while accomplished in scholarly pursuits that develop and support ‘best practice’ in PT. They are indeed experts in all that they do. Faculty role model the integration of teaching, science, practice and leadership while encouraging students to engage in healthy dialogue that acknowledges the importance of human interaction within our field.

As a student of our School, you will be challenged to develop as a leader in an area that best matches your interests and skills. You will be encouraged to reflect on all decisions that you make so as to grow as an individual and as an autonomous provider in this ever changing health care environment. Our emphasis will be on your professional development, your skills as a life-long learner who actively engages in clinical research in the field and who ultimately will be our next generations of leaders in PT. Along with the faculty and staff of our School, l look forward to taking this journey with you.
