Dr. Wimett, a full professor, has been a full time faculty member at Regis University in Denver Colorado, for over 20 years. Her nursing career included roles as a medical-surgical staff nurse, ICU nurse, ED nurse, Nursing Supervisor, Director of Nursing Education, Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing and finally as an Advanced Practice Primary Care Nurse. She holds a BSN, MS in nursing, MS in personnel management, a Doctorate in Education and a Post Master’s Certificate as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Her current research includes working with a team studying inter-professional nursing and exploring ways to make learning at a distance motivating and fun. She has also explored how Digital Story Telling can help drive a patient centered culture in Long Term Care. Her clinical practice is with an underserved clinic in Denver. Her passion is exploring methodologies that are the most effective in facilitating student learning in an age of technology and information overload.
