I have been influenced by Parker Palmer’s text on the courage to teach.  He states ”teachers choose their vocation for reasons of the heart, because they care deeply about their students and about the subject” (p.5). Teaching is a valued focus of my professional career. I continue to seek avenues that will foster these values in my teaching endeavors and have attended conferences exploring the innovative pedagogies used in nursing education.
