I am a servant leader and as such consider meeting the needs of others foundational to each of my roles.  I believe that nursing education must be delivered in such a manner as to contribute the development of a more just and compassionate world through caring nursing practices that place the highest priority on the needs of others. As an educator, I believe that if we care for the whole person and provide appropriate opportunities for learning and growth, students can change the world. I further believe strongly that we must not only be open to change, but we must manifest the change, and become innovators who ask not only why, but why not, and work hard to make positive change happen. Further, I believe that applying theory to practice and studying what we do to generate new knowledge that can be applied to bring about best practice is the hallmark of a profession and represents the character of its members.
