If you are interested in challenging yourself and stretching your limits, then one of the outdoor adventure break trips might be for you. All trips are filled on a first come first served basis, so sign up today!

What is the Outdoor Adventure Break Program?

The Outdoor Adventure Break Program offers you the opportunity to travel to various destinations while developing a deeper understanding of the wilderness.  You will also have an opportunity for spiritual reflection and leadership development during the trip. In the past, students have traveled to Costa Rica, the Great Sand Dunes, CO, Moab, UT and more. All trips are filled on a first come first served basis.

Registration for the Outdoor Adventure Spring Break trips is completed through our online ActiveNet site.  Register by signing in through your previous account, or if you have never used our ActiveNet site up until now, simply click on “Forgotten?” under the sign in box. All current Regis University students have accounts on our ActiveNet.com website. When you click on forgotten,your log in and password will be emailed to your Regis email. Your spot on a trip is not guaranteed until you have paid your trip fee. Follow instructions on the website for paying. If you have trouble registering for an Outdoor Adventure Spring Break trip please contact Brian Anderson by email, by phone at 303.458.4202 or stop by his office in the Coors Life Directions Center, Room #118C.

Mount Rainier Ski & Snowboard

Come spend your Spring Break in the spectacular mountains of Washington State with the Outdoor Adventure Program! We will be traveling to Mount Rainier, a gorgeous mountain prime for winter activities just outside Seattle. The trip will consist of backpacking, winter camping, and some serious shredding opportunities. We will also be teaching avalanche safety, self-sufficiency, and basic winter survival skills, so you can even learn stuff over Spring Break! This trip will be epic, guys and gals, especially if you’re on it. A minimum ability to ski or ride intermediate back country terrain required.

  • March 2nd-9th, 2013

Trip Highlights

  • Exploring beautiful Mount Rainier National Park
  • Learn winter backcountry travel skills
  • Avalanche awareness training, using a beacon, probe and shovel
  • Backcountry skiing and snowboarding runs in untracked snow

What to Expect

  • Winter mountain climate
  • Days of skiing/boarding with a group of students
  • Tent camping

Trip Fee

  • $400/student (includes airfare)
  • Spots on the trip are not guaranteed until your full fee is paid

  • Round trip airfare from Denver to Seattle, Washington
  • Transportation on the trip
  • Three meals per day (meals not included while traveling to and from destination)
  • OAP guides for the trip

Conquering the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is known for its beauty, allure, and appeal to those adventurous enough to hike it. Add yourself to that list and come join the Outdoor Adventure Program on a journey through the wondrous Grand Canyon on a Spring Break trip extravaganza! We will spend a week hiking the canyon, enjoying the beauty and serenity of the landscape. Spend quality time with Arizona, nature, and your fellow group members. Previous backpacking experience not required. Bring your sense of adventure and some strong deodorant. Hope to see you there!
