Serafin Sanchez teaches Applied Saxophone at Regis University. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. While at CU Serafin received two prestigious jazz awards from Downbeat Magazine, one as member of CU's Jazz Ensemble 1 and another for outstanding soloist performance. Serafin has been a member of the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra traveling across the U.S., Canada, and Japan.

As an active performer in the community, Sanchez is currently performing in groups across Colorado including The Serafin Sanchez/ Jeremy Jones Quintet, Bop Skizzum, 8traC, The Electric Sax Duo, and other freelance work in the Denver Metro area. He also has performed with The Ninth & Lincoln Orchestra, The Wil Swindler Elevenet, The Darren Kramer Organization, Chris Lackinak and the New Orleans Heard, The Bob Montgomery/Pete Olstad Big Band, The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, The Denver Jazz Orchestra, Colorado Music Festival Orchestra, at the Telluride Jazz Festival, and with many notable guest artists at CU, including Bob Mintzer, Dave Grusin, Conrad Herwig, Jim McNeley, and James Carter. He has also been a member of the instructional staff at Pomona High School and at the Birch Creek Music Camp in Door County Wisconsin. Serafin maintains an active private teaching studio in his hometown of Arvada.
