Working on Campus

The Learn & Earn program is designed to compliment academic work and provide students the opportunity to develop working skills. We have found that students who work on campus perform at a higher level academically than those who do not work. Students who work on campus are required to budget time effectively between work schedules and study time. Students typically work 10-15 hours a week.

What is Learn & Earn?

Building on our commitment to the freshman year experience, Regis University initiated an innovative program called Learn & Earn. Under Learn & Earn, all new incoming freshmen have the opportunity to apply for work on campus. This is a program offered only to freshmen, and we encourage all students to participate for three important reasons:
  • Connections. This is the most important component to Learn & Earn, and was the driving force in designing the program. When students work on campus, they make important connections with faculty, staff, and the students with whom they work. These connections act as a valuable support system, which is even more important because of our student population’s geographic diversity.
  • Skills. Students participating in Learn & Earn can expect to gain on-campus work experience that will help them in their future careers.
  • Cash. Students have the opportunity to earn up to $2,400 in this program. The money goes directly to the student, and can be used in a variety of ways. In most cases, this money will allow the student to take care of everyday living expenses such as books and supplies, travel, or entertainment.

How Do I Get Involved?

  • Apply and be accepted for admission to Regis College of Regis University.
  • Complete the FAFSA and indicate your interest in employment by March 1. Students  interested in employment ONLY must submit a Regis University Employment Application available from the Office of Financial Aid before March 1 – funding is limited. Students who are interested in employment AND other financial aid must apply by the deadline of to guarantee work study.
  • During new student orientation, students who have been awarded Learn & Earn will be taught the necessary steps required to secure a position on campus.
  • Start your exciting Learn & Earn job in the fall!

Want to Know More?

  • This program is open to all Regis College freshmen – regardless of financial need – who submit appropriate paperwork by March 1. Applications received after this date are subject to being placed on a waitlist.
  • A student may earn up to $2,400 ($1,200 per semester) for the year by working between 10-15 hours per week. Students will receive a paycheck every two weeks for actual hours worked.
  • A variety of jobs are available. Some on-campus job positions include: tutors, administrative assistants, laboratory research assistants, and student managers. Students work in locations such as the library, wellness center, computer center, athletics and admissions. Service learning opportunities are also available for need-based work study.
  • Each academic or administrative department has the option to request student assistance annually.
  • Students who are admitted into the Freshman Commitment Program will work with their program coordinator and the Student Employment Coordinator for possible job placement. Some students in this program may be ineligible for Learn & Earn during their first semester.
  • Student athletes receiving significant scholarships will be governed by NCAA regulations pertaining to on-campus employment. Decisions affecting these students will be made on a case-by-case basis.
  • The Learn & Earn program is administered by the Office of Financial Aid. Funds are awarded with other types of aid to complete a financial aid package.
  • This is a freshman year program. However, funding is available for on-campus employment to continuing students on a fund availability basis
