Love the Rockies?
Regis University's close proximity to the mountains means you're a short drive away from Breckenridge, Vail and Winter Park, where world-class skiing, snowboarding, shopping and hotels beckon.
If you’re on a budget, it’s worth the drive just for the scenery. Be on the watch for bison, elk, deer, big-horned sheep and other Colorado wildlife. Visit one of the small mining towns along the way such as Idaho Springs and grab a buffalo burger. Or, keep going up to Aspen, Telluride or Crested Butte for any number of events and activities throughout the year. Summer is off-season, so expect great discounts and excellent camping, hiking and biking weather.
Skiing & Snowboarding
If you’re a skiier or a snowboarder, make time to head to the mountains and take advantage of the prime snow conditions. The Regis University campus is located within a two-hour drive of seven world-class ski resorts featuring varied terrain for first timers and seasoned experts alike. Most resorts offer some kind of student season pass discount, so gather some friends and go!
Other Mountain Destinations
In addition to great skiing, Colorado’s mountains provide lots of year-round activities - from ice skating, snowshoeing and sledding, to camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding and fishing. Plus, most mountain towns host festivals such as Oktoberfest, 4th of July activities and holiday excursions. And don’t forget about great restaurants and hotels! For a night, a weekend or a week, there is always something (or nothing!) to do in the mountains. Small town or large resort, you will find a favorite spot to enjoy Colorado’s sunshine and friendly people.
