Effective August 1, 2012, the Post 9/11 GI Bill provides veterans who are eligible for 100% of benefits and attending a private school with $18,077.50 per academic year for tuition and fees, (this amount is applicable for graduate students participating in Regis University's CPS online and Colorado campus-based programs only).
Regis University College for Professional Studies (CPS) is a proud participant of the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program), a provision of the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. The Program enables institutions of higher learning to enter into an agreement with the Veterans Administration (VA) to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state tuition rate (for online programs and Colorado campus-based programs the maximum allowable tuition is $529.50 per credit hour). Eligible veterans can accept these tuition benefits to further their own education, or they can transfer their benefits to their spouses and/or dependents.
The Yellow Ribbon Program enables private schools like Regis University CPS to provide graduate-level education to soldiers who served after 9/11 by making tuition costs competitive with other schools.
Yellow Ribbon Program Tuition Benefits
If tuition expenses exceed the 2012 cap of $18,077.50, the Yellow Ribbon Program will provide additional funding to use toward tuition.
- For eligible graduate students, Regis University will provide an additional $4,270.00, which the Yellow Ribbon Program will match. This provides graduate students a total of $26,040.00 to use toward tuition for the entire academic year.
- Graduate program tuition varies by degree, so total credit hours earned under tuition benefit vary as well. For example, during the 2012-2013 academic year, $26,040 will cover 32 credit hours (10 courses) for the online MBA degree or 37 credit hours (almost 12 courses) of a School of Computer Science & Information online graduate degree.
For help calculating your own expected tuition costs, contact a Regis Enrollment Counselor. Veterans who are not eligible for 100% of the Post 9/11 GI Bill need to contact a VA representative to determine the education benefits he/she is eligible for.
