Regis University School of Physical Therapy Dean Selected
Mark F. Reinking has been named the second dean of the Regis University School of Physical Therapy. Reinking was selected following a national search and will join the faculty in August 2015.
Currently the chairman of Saint Louis University’s Department of Physical Therapy & Athletic Training, Reinking brings to Regis more than 25 years of higher education experience.
“We are excited to have Dr. Reinking bring his leadership and exemplary education experience to Regis,” said Janet Houser, dean of the Rueckert-Harman College for Health Professions. “He brings with him a great commitment to developing the moral character of students and will build upon the substantial achievements of our nationally-ranked physical therapy program.”
Reinking earned a doctorate in higher education administration from Saint Louis University, a master of physical therapy from the University of Indianapolis and a master’s in biology from The Ohio State University. Before joining the faculty at Saint Louis University in 1999, he held positions at Clark College and the University of Indianapolis. In 2014 the American Physical Therapy Association Sports Physical Therapy Section awarded Reinking the Lifetime Excellence in Education Award.
“It is with great excitement and anticipation that I join the outstanding faculty and staff in the School of Physical Therapy at Regis University,” Reinking said. “To build on the legacy of educational and clinical excellence in the Jesuit tradition is an amazing opportunity.”
Reinking succeeds founding Dean Barbara Tschoepe who returned to teaching after more than 20 years of leadership. Tschoepe was the driving force in developing the doctor of physical therapy degree at Regis – the first doctoral program offered at the University in 2001.
