The School of Nursing is responsible for preparing pre-licensure students to become competent registered nurses who have the knowledge and skills to provide high quality patient care. The School is also responsible for advancing the education of registered nurses to meet the healthcare needs of patients in an ever changing and complex delivery system.  Faculty create learning environments for students to successfully meet expected course, clinical, and program outcomes as delineated in a planned curriculum that is developed in accordance with professional nursing standards and guidelines.  Faculty use evidence-based teaching and learning practices to support students in gaining knowledge and skills for practice. Students are active learners in the educational process and take responsibility for utilizing planned course and clinical opportunities to increase self-awareness, confidence, and competence in the nursing role
