I have an unabashed love for nursing students at all levels, from pre-licensure education through doctoral preparation, and advocate for the faculty and staff who educate and support them.  My teaching philosophy aligns with approaches to pioneer interactive educational models, support diverse adult learners, and prepare leaders for rapidly evolving healthcare delivery systems.  My efforts promote articulate graduates who are stewards of the healing trinity of caring, safety, and leadership.  These graduates go beyond critical thinking to spectral thinking; negotiate theory driven solutions; deliver safe, evidence-based, holistic health care in collaboration with recipients of care; inspire achievement of others’ potential and well-being; and pursue resonating realms of scholarship and leadership.  Overall, I have 25 years of nursing experience in diverse settings and 10 prior years of business experience in progressive administrative capacities.  I have maintained a private practice in community health nursing, entrepreneurship, consultation, and philanthropy since 1996, for which I have invested in business courses to acquire the wisdom to solve problems while maintaining collegial relationships.  I completed a two-year term on the Regis University President’s Advisory Council.  This high-level service and related strategic planning efforts speak to my willingness and ease to collaborate with diverse constituencies for the benefit of all stakeholders.  I have also fostered community and professional development through service on boards, including the New Graduate Nurse Residency Program Advisory Board at Children’s Hospital Colorado and our chapter-at-large of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.  During my term as chapter president, growth in membership increased from 900 to 1400 members, and our chapter received a regional honor.  I gravitate toward fundraising for worthy causes and am a table host for Project CURE’s annual First Ladies’ Luncheon and for the American Cancer Society’s 2014 Gala.
