Are you a busy professional looking to break into the field of medical records? Do you have an unrelated bachelor's degree? Regis University's Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Information Management (HIM) offers you the opportunity to solidify your experience by earning the requisite credentials in the shortest amount of time.

According to the 2012 edition of the Occupational Outlook Handbook of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of medical records and health information technicians is expected to keep growing faster than the average of all occupations through 2022.

The Post-Baccalaureate HIM Certificate is offered 100 percent online!

The HIM certificate program online option offers courses in a flexible format so that you may attend class from anywhere online! Online classes are in eight-week terms and do not require specific log in times, but do include weekly deadlines and assignments. The online option allows you to advance your education, while maintaining full-time employment.

The Post-Baccalaureate HIM Certificate curriculum requires completion of 57 semester hours and can be completed in 24-30 months. Individuals who already possess the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential are awarded credit for specific coursework previously completed.

Upon completing the HIM Certificate program online, graduates are eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential exam. The graduate may use this credential anywhere in the U.S. and some international locations without retesting.

Degree: Graduates are awarded a Certificate in Health Information Management and are eligible to sit for the national Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential exam through AHIMA – a credential recognized anywhere in the United States and some international locations without retesting.

Online Option:  Flexible format allows you to log in anytime, day or night as you complete weekly assignments. Each class lasts eight weeks allowing you to progress quickly. No campus visits are required for online students.

Start Dates: Spring (January), Summer (May), Fall (August)

Application Deadline: Regis University's HIM program has a rolling admission deadline so it’s never too late to apply. Course size is limited, so it is best to submit applications sooner than later.

Length of Program:  The required HIM curriculum can be completed in approximately 24-30 months, depending on the pace at which you choose to take courses.
