Be Introspective. Be Involved. Be in Charge of Your Future.

Gain a great sense of purpose and meaning, deepen your community connection and promote healthy living styles during your sophomore year at Regis.

    Experience

The sophomore IN program is designed to engage and develop students in the following ways:

  • Gaining a greater sense of purpose and meaning while at Regis and moving forward
  • Gathering a deeper sense of community among the sophomore class and the Regis community
  • Promoting independence through leadership, self-awareness, and confidence
  • Learning and living the mission of Regis University
  • Understanding healthy lifestyles and how to live during college

The sophomore IN is comprised of three main components: a Fall Fling event, a sophomore mentorship program between sophomore students and Regis faculty and staff, and a sophomore-specific service experience.

Register for sophomore IN

For additional information about the sophomore IN, please contact Andra Bickel or Brent Vogel.

The Fall Fling component of the sophomore IN program gives students the opportunity to meet new people in their class, learn about integral resources available to sophomores, and compete against their peers in a competition designed to test their knowledge of everything from the capital of Egypt to how many calories are burned while doing a push up. This half-day event brings together program participants for lunch and the chance to visit and learn about many of the different offices on campus – all with a little bit of friendly competition throw in!

Participants of the sophomore IN program will be assigned a Regis faculty or staff mentor. Mentoring matches will be made based on student’s interest areas and the mentor’s interest areas. Sophomores will meet with their mentor at least once a semester to explore life after graduation, learn about areas of passion in more detail, locate new resources that can help them  in the future, and meet new people around Regis University and the community that can help with internships, graduate schools or careers.

In keeping with the Jesuit tradition of “men and women in service of others”, the sophomore IN program offers service opportunities for students in the program to impact the Regis and greater Denver community. The service opportunities are chosen, coordinated and led by students in the program. The service opportunities are planned throughout the spring semester, giving students multiple opportunities to serve the community around a variety of needs.
