The mathematics minor allows (and even encourage) double majors or major/minor combinations with other fields. Computer Science, any of the natural sciences, Finance or Economics, and Education are all obvious natural combinations, but we have had many successful students that combine with majors or minors in English, Religious Studies, and Fine Arts.
The minor in mathematics also provides students with a broad knowledge of theoretical and applied mathematics.
We encourage undergraduate research with faculty as a way to develop analytic and communication skills that prepare students for almost any kind of work, as well as for graduate studies in any Mathematics related field. Students can also include an internship experience as a valuable part of the Mathematics major, gaining experience in the world of work while developing problem solving skills.
