Regis Programs

Biology

The biology program at Regis prepares students for diverse programs including graduate school, medical and physical therapy schools, and prepares students for jobs in biotechnology, education, wildlife biology, and conservation. Nine full-time faculty with expertise in molecular, developmental, organismic, and ecological biology emphasize independent inquiry and small laboratory classes. Students have opportunities to be research collaborators with faculty. Students may also gain valuable experience serving as laboratory student assistants and peer tutors.

Chemistry

In chemistry, Regis students graduate with a wellrounded sense of the field, and the majority pursue post-baccalaureate work in chemistry or medicine. Six full-time faculty have expertise in the areas of organic, inorganic, physical, atmospheric, biological, and medicinal chemistry. Faculty personally teach all laboratory classes, which are typically small and interactive. Students get hands-on time with sophisticated instrumentation in all lab courses, regardless of level. The Henry Luce Foundation has awarded Regis the prestigious Clare Boothe Luce Professorship twice and the Clare Boothe Luce Scholarship three times.

Mathematics

The mathematics program at Regis offers an exciting curriculum that combines theory and application, with faculty who are dedicated to teaching and their students. Recent student research projects have included wavelet image compression, economics and game theory, algebra and origami, and a cryptography system based on the Rubik’s Cube. Many students have presented their research at local and national conferences. Graduates from the Regis Math department have been successful in a wide variety of endeavors, including teaching high school mathematics, pursuing advanced degrees in mathematics, engineering and biostatistics, and enjoying positions in mathematical finance, software engineering, statistical analysis, and a host of other careers.

Psycholgoy & Neuroscience

The goal of the psychology and neuroscience programs is to provide students with educational experiences that will enhance their understanding of human behavior. These programs provide a challenging and thorough curriculum taught by full-time faculty in small classes and laboratory facilities that are among the best in the nation for undergraduate programs. Students are encouraged to gain hands-on experiences through internships and research opportunities, and to participate in local, regional, and national professional conferences. Regis prepares students for a variety of futures including: advanced studies in psychology, neuroscience, law, education, or health care (e.g. nursing, medical school, physical therapy, pharmacy) and careers in research, biotechnology, statistics, and mental health fields.
