Meet Our Professional Staff

A professional staff of licensed and qualified psychologists and
counselors provide individual and group services which include
short-term counseling, long-term counseling when advisable, referral
to consulting psychiatrist, where appropriate, and assessment
of more severe psychological concerns.

Chaney Givens, Psy.D.

Dr. Chaney Givens received her Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University in 1990 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. She received a Masters of Education degree in Community Counseling from the University of Oklahoma in 1994 and a Masters of Arts and Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 2001. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Colorado. She has over eighteen years of experience working with young adults, couples, families and adolescents, especially those involved with the juvenile justice system. Dr. Givens’ areas of interest include mental health assessments, psychological evaluations, depression, anxiety, personality disorders and self-mutilating behaviors. Dr. Givens has been employed by Regis University for ten years and was the Associate Director for five years prior to becoming the Director in 2007. In addition, she is the co-owner of a group private practice that specializes in working with juvenile delinquents.

Dr. Jina Jensen received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 2002 with a major in psychology. She recieved her Master of Arts and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 2007. Dr. Jensen's areas of interest include substance use and abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, abuse, outreach, and peer education. Dr. Jensen believes that as a result of previous experiences and relationships, people develop patterns of being and interacting in the world that can be healthy or harmful. Dr. Jensen works to develop a supportive and open environment with her clients in order to aid them in understanding these patterns and the effectiveness of them. Dr. Jensen became a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and was promoted to Assistant Director 2008 and Associate Director in 2010.

Dr. Mary Stall received her B.A. in Philosophy from Louisiana State University in 1986 and her Masters degree in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989. She then went on to study psychology, receiving her Master of Arts and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 2002. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Colorado. After seven years in private practice here in Denver, Dr. Stall joined the mental health staff at Regis as a staff psychologist. Her areas of special interest include anxiety, trauma, learning disabilities and ADHD.

Cindy received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo in 2002 and her Master of Arts in Counseling and Counselor Education with a concentration in couples and family therapy, in 2007. She is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Colorado and is pending licensure as a marriage and family therapist. Cindy has been working in community mental health and private practice for the past three years and has developed a strong interest in relationship counseling. She has experience with couples, families, adolescents, and individual adults in a variety of settings. She has also worked with children in foster care, children on the Autism spectrum, and adults with severe and chronic mental illness. Cindy most enjoys helping people become more authentic and real in their daily living. She believes that being true to oneself leads to real choices in life and that pretending or trying to please others often leads to depression, anxiety, unsatisfying relationships, and less healthful living. Cindy is a Registered Therapy Dog Handler with American Humane/Delta Society, and works with her Registered Therapy Dog, Joey, on a case-by-case basis to facilitate the development of communication skills, social skills, healthy relationships, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

Jeni Shannon, Ph.D.

Jeni earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Arizona. She completed her M.Ed. and Ph.D. at the University of Missouri in Counseling Psychology, with a Sport Psychology emphasis. Jeni has worked in a number of University Counseling Centers and has extensive experience working with collegiate athletes in individual and team settings. Jeni is a Certified Sport Psychology Consultant with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (Consultant #384) and a member of the United States Olympic Committee Sport Psychology Registry. She works with athletes on both personal and performance issues, and offers team sessions and workshops on various sport psychology topics. Other areas of interest include eating disorders and body image, self-injury, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. Jeni strives to create and a safe and supportive environment to facilitate self-exploration and personal growth. She explores strengths and values as a way of making change and living a more congruent life.

Amy Ginsberg received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2005. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 2010. Amy received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2012 from the University of Denver, where she specialized in working with young adults, couples, and people struggling with eating disorders. She also provided psychological assessment. Amy completed her year-long, pre-doctoral internship at the Office of Counseling and Personal Development and is thrilled to remain at Regis as a Staff Counselor. Amy believes that therapy is a collaborative process and one in which personal growth and exploration should be nurtured. Her professional interests include eating disorders, couples therapy, substance abuse, relationship issues, and therapeutic assessment.

Shanna Tillman received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2007, and her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 2012. She is currently the Doctoral Psychology Intern at Regis University, and is in her final year of a doctorate program in clinical psychology at the University of Denver. Shanna has a special interest and experience in the areas of substance abuse and addiction, trauma, depression and anxiety, and relationship issues. In therapy, she also pays close attention to highlighting and developing areas of strength, and encourages clients to clarify and move towards their personal goals and values.
