Let's build this scrumptious idea into a reality for everyone. The Sullivan Chair is engaged in the planning of the Berkeley Information Center as a Community Impact Investment. The Berkeley Information Center is intended to provide a range of local information to the citizens of the Berkeley District of the City of Denver, Colorado. At present, there is no single, central source of information for the many types of information needed in daily life by individuals, families and businesses within the community. A Community Impact Investment is a community development and revitalization activity that is conducted to address a community problem. Funding for the activity may be provided through a social investment model without government monies or charitable gifts. During the planning process, information will be gathered from citizens and businesses within Berkeley as to their information needs and priorities. With this information, different options will be considered based upon available technology and cost. The Sullivan Chair will deliver plans for different options for the development and operation of a Center to the Berkeley Merchant’s Association. The plans will monetize operation of the Center with the goal of paying back investment money. If the needed money is raised, the selected plan will be implemented. Both the planning and launch of the Center will include participation of Regis University students so that they can learn entrepreneurship. If the Center can meet the needs of the Berkeley community and achieve sustainable operations, the Sullivan Chair will package the Center plan in a kit with lessons learned from the plan’s implementation. The kit will be offered for sale to other communities. In this manner, a single project may be widely replicated and locally funded across the nation. Revenue generated from kit sales will be used for expansion of Sullivan Chair activities. Teak Tree Farming: International Business Teak wood is one of the world’s most valuable hardwoods.
